You say tomato

April 17, 2011

I say to-mah-to. No, not really. But I might start. If my Kiwi mother-in-law sounds cool saying “garriage” instead of garage (rhymes with carriage) — then maybe I’ll sound cool saying “to-mah-to.”

“To-mah-to, to-mah-to, I love you, to-mah-to, you’re only a day away…”

OK, this is turning into a bad mix of karaoke songs.

HOWEVER, here’s a good mix from my Farmer’s Market excursion (I had it for lunch).

A Spring tomato and sharp cheddar cheese melt on honey wheat bread, drizzled with extra virgin olive oil and sprinkled with sea salt and cracked pepper. Don’t mind if I do.

If I liked tomatoes, this would be a wonderful sandwich. I do love cheddar cheese though. I try to buy the sharpest cheddar I can find.

    It looks yummy!
