Sorting it out

January 9, 2011

Sometimes you just need a 22-month old to help you sort it out.

I thought that I had it right: light colors in a pile, dark colors in a pile, delicates in a pile…

But this guy thought differently. He thought: “Hey, wouldn’t it be fun if we washed white socks with red underwear and made them pink?”

He pondered: “And why are we sheltering these delicates? Life is more fun on the fast cycle, let’s wash them with the jeans…”

And before I knew it, bras and sweatshirts were friends. Dirty sheets and precious silks were one in the same.

When all was said in done, the only thing that mattered was how proud he was to have helped mommy.

And all was right with the world. (red socks and all)
